Mommy's boy Elling and his roommate, the uncouth Kjell Bjarne, are the Odd Couple of Oslo; a pair of confused souls taking their first steps in the outside world after years of isolated, institutional life. Given a flat in the city by the social services department, they must re-assimilate themselves into society or face a return to the asylum. So its simply a question of convincing their social worker that they are really normal - even if it does feel safer sleeping in the wardrobe...
Based on the cult Norwegian novel by Ingvar Ambjørnsen and Oscar nominated film, Elling is a delightful heart-warming comedy.

Reviews:
Humorous in some parts, touching in others, there is never a dull moment
in the play. With masterly performances, Elling stands to prove that
acting is not just about good diction and throw of voice; it's also
about the actor's use of the body - THE HINDU
Dramanon's latest production "Elling" is a laughathon with it's heart in
the right place. While Elling is a mama's boy who is paranoid about
stepping out of the house, his roommate Kjell, whose obsession is women
and food has the funniest lines in the play. - TIMES OF INDIA.
Dramanon's latest production "Elling" is a heartwarming comedy with a
sensitive storyline. This play is one of those well written
psychological dramas that slips into your mind and helps you understand
people who often seem like a mystery to the rest of us. - DECCAN HERALD |
