When the pythons followed the actor!!!
Play | English

"When the pythons followed An Actor..." is an adaptation of "An Actor's Nightmare" and 3 sketches of Monty Python, strung together to produce 70 minutes of free flowing laughter and nothing else. Christopher Durang is a contemporary American playwright known for his dark comedies. His "An Actor's Nightmare" was inspired by the well known dream that many people in professional and amateur theatre have, that they go to perform in a play that they have inexplicably never been to rehearsals for, and for which they know neither the lines or the plot. The Monty Python group is very well known around the world for its hilarious TV sketches and movies.

    Ambe-Ambike & Macbeth Aata
Combination of two Kannada plays

Ambe-Ambike:
The play centres around the famous woman characters of Mahabharata - Ambe and Ambike. Jilted by Bhishma, the only man she loved, Ambe devotes the rest of her life to wreak vengeance on him. The most idealized male character of Mahabharata is seen in totally different light when viewed through the eyes of the wronged woman. The play text, through a series of monologues and dialogues with her sister and counter self, Ambike, depicts another Bhishma, who turns out to be just another male.

Macbeth Aata:
A gripping verse play, it centers around the night-long macabre rituals of witches in which witches themselves metamorphose into Macbeth and his spouse. After Duncan's murder juxtaposed with lady Macbeth's delivery, the instigator Lady Macbeth begins to disintegrate whereas Macbeth hardens into greater villainy. This is a significant departure from the source text. After the discovery of the crime by other thanes, Macbeth gets ready to crack down on all his opponents. But as sunrise draws close, witches decide to end their make-believe in spite of Macbeth?s protests. Thus, the play-text emphasizes play-like aspects of characters and situation. Hence its title Macbeth Aata meaning Macbeth play.

    Bikhre Bimb
Play | Hindi

The twenty - first century is the age of the electronic image. From every corner of our world, electronic images fling themselves at us, entertaining, educating, enticing, offering us a virtual world of global dimensions to immerse ourselves in. The very notion of a private self seems threatened by this onslaught from outside. But suppose the most vociferous of these images were one's own?
Manjula Nayak is a not very successful Kannada short-story writer.. Suddenly she becomes wealthy and internationally famous by writing a best-seller in English. The question haunting Manjula is whether in thus opting for the global audience she has betrayed her own language and identity. A little-known face in Karnataka, she has now acquired an international image. And inherited problems of loyalty and betrayal.
And, without warning, it's her own image that decides to play confessor, psychologist and inquisitor.
...for you know only
A heap of broken images, where the sun beats,
And the dead tree gives no shelter....
